Integral Education: Character
Staff at Millar strive to encourage students to allow the Spirit of God to develop the character of Jesus in them as they face both the joys and trials of life.
Integral Education: Life Skills
Each class at Millar includes a practical assignment to develop a life skill to employ the Scriptural principles the student is learning as they study the Scriptures.
Integral Education: Bible Knowledge
The goal behind the teaching of the Scriptures, and our student’s growth in Bible Knowledge, isn’t primarily cognitive. We don’t want to primarily be a depository of Bible information at Millar. Though lots of facts and information are given in the classroom, the main goal of teaching the Bible is for life change to take place.
Core Values: Holiness
While justification is instantaneous, sanctification is a process. Growth is a journey. To nurture holiness requires intentionality, purpose, and focus on the part of the regenerate. That is why our vision statement makes clear that we must be committed to nurturing holiness.
Core Values: Servanthood
We do not have to choose between being busy serving others and worshiping at the feet of Jesus. Biblical servanthood – servanthood that remembers and points to the finished work of the Great Servant – unites the two.
Core Values: World Missions
The amazing grace that we have received compels us to tell others what Christ has done. That is why Millar College of the Bible wants to help our students understand how precious their salvation is while also equipping them to share it with the world.
Core Values: Mentoring
The guiding vision for mentoring relationships is to provide students with an opportunity to have mentors build into their lives through intentional relationships of accountability, support, and encouragement, either one-on-one or in small groups. As God works in the life of an individual through his Word and His Holy Spirit, he has also chosen to use individuals like you and I to have the privilege of being a part of that work.
Core Values: Family
The staff at Millar College are frequently reminded to appreciate the talents of those around us; to not see them as a threat to our own success but as a gift to the greater team. Likewise, we expect students to lift each other up and celebrate the success of others.
Core Values: The Local Church
In the local church the truth of the gospel is proclaimed in such a way that it puts believers to work in unity. A disciple’s life is equipped for its fullest expression through attachment to others. The imagery Paul uses is striking. The body is one whole. The body is attached and joined together. The local church is a place of connection. To sever or distance one believer from others is to do serious harm.
Core Values: Bible Teaching
The Scriptures are not just a bunch of disconnected random stories. God presents his great message of salvation to his people through all 66 books of the Bible. We need to read what he reveals to us in the entirety of Scripture so we can better understand him and the work that he desires to do in us in Christ Jesus. This is what the whole program of Millar College of the Bible seeks to do: to demonstrate how the Lord speaks through the Scriptures to proclaim salvation and transform us into servants of Jesus Christ.
